We recently ran an article, “In Dublin, a Neighbourhood Boundary Is Sometimes More a Feeling Then a Line”, which made us wonder: could we draw the boundaries of our own areas – could our readers?

In this month’s print edition, we included maps and asked people to give it a try and send us their efforts, which we posted in a Twitter thread. Now, Emmet Ó Briain and CivicTech.ie have teamed up to bring the game properly online.

If you're interested in doing something with the data, you can fetch the raw, anonymised submissions at /hoods.json or /hoods/[id].json. That /hoods.json endpoint is paginated, so you'll need to append a ?p=2 (etc) to fetch everything. You can also append a ?q=search+query if you're looking for submissions of a specific area.
